Default New 2002 Volvo S60 Owner

Hi Everyone!!

I just got a 2002 Volvo S60 and I got it for $500 put a new engine in it, detailed it and did tires and alot of other odds and ends and now its a pretty clean ride.

One issue im not 100% sure on is the gauges will cut on and off with no pattern in particular. I can push on the right corner or the mileage reset button and it will once an awhile turn it back on. If anyone knows of any solder joints or repairs that can be made to this please let me know.

Thanks,
Josh

What happened to it before you got it? May be able to find the problem faster with more info But it sounds like a plug in problem behind the cluster, just pull it out to see.

I already pulled the cluster and im not seeing issues with the connector, even if I wiggle the connector it doesnt effect the cluster. The cluster never flickers it just shuts off so I have a felling it isnt a connector.

Come on guys and gals someone has to have seen this before! There was over 50 of you that read this post and only one commented.

Could be a fuse, or a computer glitch. Yeah over 50 of us read but we don't answer unless we've had the problem or have a good idea of what it could be. Just be patient.

Welcome to the Forum.

Sounds like a short in the cluster. I have heard that if you take all of the plastics off the cluster and put it in the oven at 385 for 10 minutes, the solder joints will relink up.

I have not done it with a gauge cluster but I have done it with a video card and it worked. I take no responsibility for this if you try it though.
