Hi everyone,

I don't actually own the Volvo I'm here doing the research on, it's my friends 1990 240 Wagon.

She say's it has a "bad" transmission (leak) and doesn't go into overdrive (automatic).

She also said something about the motor making noise, but that a mechanic has told her not to worry about it.

Obviously, I haven't seen or heard the 240 running (yet) to give a first hand impression.

I do know the owner wants to get rid of it, and probably very cheap to free.

I'm impressed with the ammount of folks registered here - I'm certain there is more than enough knowlege to coach me in fixing - or getting this 240 to a good home.
