Hello all, I just purchased my first volvo last week. Its a 2006 Volvo XC90, 2.5T Just thought i'd join up here and see what I can learn from you guys.

 

I'm in NC too, just bought a 95 740 wagon 5 speed maroon...I like it!

My name is Lara. I bought my '01 V70 T5 on Halloween last year and I am in super car love with my wagon! Even if I have had just one issue after another, after another. But thats why Im here: regardless of what the Volvo make say, I do not have money to just throw at mechanics.

I figured out my mistake: I let someone other than a Volvo dealer yank out my transmission. Every issue I have had since then can be linked in some way back to the trans. work. I wont name any names, but its a national company that starts with 2 A's (hint hint). Oh, well. . . live and learn.

If I wasnt so in love with that car I would have set it on fire by now! Thank God for extended warranties!!!

Hope I can get some help on here
Have had our S60 since 2002 and we love it. It has 243K on it and runs smooth.

2 days ago I bought a 2001 V70 with 73K on it and in awesome shape. I am having a problem with the battery getting run down, alt was checked and it is charging, I put in a new battery, but still runs down and I can not start . I read on here that it may be a faultly switch on the vanity lights or something like that so I have have removed the fuse and we will see tomorrow morning.

I also got the ABS and STC lights came on today while on a trip and they stayed on the entire trip including a couple of stops where the car was shut off. When I returned home stopped the car and then restarted about 15 minutes later no lights. I hope this car is not going to be full of surprizes as I will have to burn it.

Love the ride and the look of the wagon, fits the family great. Any help is greatly appreciated
