New guy in NC
Hey guys! I just picked up a 99 V70 XC. I'm a subaru guy by nature, volvo by necessity.
I had a 99 subaru 2.5rs...
that got me into the "tuner scene", and opened me up to modifying cars. then i sold that and upgraded to a wrx...
that car was my baby. cost of the car plus modifications- tranny, turbo, suspension, etc...was about 20 grand...then this happened.....
total loss of the car, plus a shattered knee cap. here i am two months later, limping around with a brace and a cane, but alive. so i plan on building another wrx, but until then i needed something to haul parts in, something automatic since i cant handle three pedals right now, and something that i could hopefully get a good deal on and sell for a profit in a few months. when i did the tranny swap on my wrx i borrowed my friends 5 spd volvo and i loved it. so i was looking for either an outback or a volvo wagon and i ended up getting this....
my brand-new-to-me 1999 volvo v70 xc turbo awd woot! 150k miles, and its the cleanest car ever. the engine bay is cleaner than my wrx bay was...
im gonna do some work on the turbo, it looks like it needs a rebuild....so yeah, im here to soak up as much info as you guys have
oh yeah, and my name is BJ, but you can call me Beej, and i live in Greensboro, NC.
