New guy, new Volvo
Well, I just couldn't afford gas at 10 mpg for a daily driver any more, and it looked like it was going to be difficult to reach a baby seat in the back of the Bronco, so I had to pick up a new DD. It's a base '98 V70 with 103k miles. Right off the bat I'm getting 21 mpg, and I just fixed the cold air valve and need to do a tune-up (original wires, cap, rotor) so hopefully that will bring me up a few more. I couldn't bring myself to sell the Bronco, so it'll just have to wait until hunting season to come out and play, or until the summer when I may be able to get some time to try it on the trails.
As I bought it:
Replaced the steelies with Cetus rims:
I grew up with '70s 240-series Volvos, then had a horrible experience with a 2000 S40, but I'm hoping for the best with this one. So far I've been pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to take apart.
