Default New guy here.. Volvo Question

Hello all..My name is ANGEL and Im from Arizona.. Well I found this site due to a add in the paper for a 900 dollar 97 Volvo 850 Turbo... The price caught my attention. Well I went to look at the car tonight. It ran perfect except that it had an oil leak. The seller says that the oil leak comes from some Turbo oil return line... Am I jumping the gun on maybe buying this thing.. Im a Mustang Guy but was looking for something maybe I can toy with. Its very clean inside and out and drove smooth and idled smooth except for the oil leak... What do you guys think??

Hi, Welcome to the forum, Car looks great, make sure service history
is intact, 850 are a very reliable model.
But Volvo's thrive on being maintained.
If it is leaking from the oil return line, it's a real easy fix.
if you search the 850 forums i'm sure you will find instructions on how to fix.
good luck

If you don't jump on it I'm going to fly to Arizona and steal it away from you. Seriously, if the service history is good and your mechanic checks it out then it would be a fantastic deal.

Welcome. Looks just like my 2000 S70, same color. And I paid a lot more than 900! Good luck

Welcome to the forum, I wish you enjoy being here.

FYR:
http://volvospeed.com/Repair/turborepairline.php

Oil leak from the turbo return line is a common problem and is a cheap & easy fix. You only need to replace the seal ring & gasket. The following vendorhas all you need:

http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo850other.htm

Seal ring:30637866
Gasket: 3514546

If you have floor jack + jackstands + common sense for safety, you can do these by yourself, otherwise you may want to take it to a shop.

Good luck to you,

JPN
