Default New guy with S80

Greetings all,

I am about to make an offer for a '05 S80 with 93k miles being sold by a Volvo dealer. Their price is $1500 below retail value which is a little puzzling. Anyway, I am not planning on haggling about the price, rather I am going to ask that they put a new timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and water pump on. So, what else should I ask for? (Something that a Volvo dealer has a better capability to do than anyone else) It comes with a 30 day/1k mile warranty w/ $100 deductable.

Also, should I consider one of the warranties they are going to try to sell me?

Thanks,
Roland

Default It's official

They didn't go for it but they knocked off $600. It seems to me they would have come out better just taking my offer. I bought it and discovered a stack of service receipts in the glove box. The previous owner had taken it to the dealer religiously for all the scheduled maintenance. I didn't know people actually did that!

Anyway, I am now an official member of the freakshow!
