New From Houston...Proud 2010 S80 Owner
Hello everyone! I hope this site will be a great resourse for me as I go forward w/ the S80. I just traded in my 06 Dodge Charger SRT8 and needed something that was a better fit for my family's lifestyle.
I have a 2010 S80, Ice White/Sandstone, Multimedia, Climate, Sunroof, Backup Camera, PCC, BLIS, and the 18' Diamond Cut Fortuna Wheels. I pick it up tomorrow in Dallas. So excited!!!
Anyone have any initial advice such as things to check out with the car before accepting delivery, any popular mods, or just things I should be thinking about???
Thanks, and looking forward to becoming a valued member on the forums.

Welcome to the forum
Nice machine you've got. Since your S80 is 2010 model, all I can say is make sure to follow scheduled maintenance found in the owner's guide. As for engine oil, I would do it at least at every 5,000 miles rather than 7,500. If it is turbocharged, I would use full synthetic oil (10W-30, or 5W-30 for frigid regions such as Canada but follow your owner's guide). If it is not turbocharged, regular grade oil would suffice.
Have it serviced at the dealer, as long as whatever comes with the car can be done at the dealer for free/less cost. After the dealer coverage expires and you wish to find a less-expensive alternative, find an independent shop that specialises in Swedish/European makes.
When changing parts at non-dealer, insist on OEM parts. Volvos don't like being treated with non-OEM parts.
Take advantage of new car warranty, especially those related to the emissions systems (it covers loads of components). Do not wax the body until after the first 6 months (this may have changed with technology in paint).
Other than that, follow the break-in period and enjoy your ride.
