Default New kid on the block

Hello all,

Wow, I find it quite amazing that such a forum exists suited to answer all types of general or in depth questions. I bought a 2000 S80 turbo about 6 months ago with just under 100,000mi on it. I love the car, but like many others I wish I knew about this forum before doing so. I am glad that I stumbled upon this site while googling any and everything about volvos.
I look forward to posting any questions that I have about my ride, because from the different posts that I have read, it seems like everybody is really nice and are very accurate when it comes to diagnosing problems.
I will always make sure I jump on here before taking my car to any mechanic, especially since I know close to nothing about cars. Nobody needs to have their problems misdiagnosed with the expenses that go into fixing them.

Until next time,
Nas

Hi Nas,

Welcome to the forum, I hope it is helpful for you.

I am an 850 driver and am not privy to the S80. When you have technical questions, be sure to post them in the S80 forum to receive the best replies. In case if the S80 forum is slow, try General Volvo Chat.

Check out the recalls on 2000 S80 and if not done yet, have them done at a Volvo dealer. Recalls are fixed by the dealers, free of charge to the customers.

Lastly, be sure to follow scheduled maintenance. Also, since it is a turbo model I would recommend using full synthetic oil.

Best of luck to you,

JPN
