I just joined the VolvoForums today, and though I'd introduce myself. My wife and I own a 2002 V70XC, which was purchased new through Overseas Delivery. It's got everything except the Nav system and is in the Mocha Brown color..... no longer available and rare here. I love/hate the car, for how it performs and what it has cost me in repairs. More on that later.........
We are both retired for some time, and love to travel. The Volvo is a great touring auto, and gets 24-26 mpg average. We recently bought a 2006 Prius, and use that more than the Volvo, because of the economy. But I do miss the ride and comfort of the Kaffeevagen.
I'm looking forward to much useful information from the List and its members.

Hello Sir,
Greetings from Narita, Japan.
I'm sorry about the cost of repair on Volvos; it is indeed pricey, even just to get the codes read from the on-board computer. Otherwise, Volvos are the 2nd safest cars on the planet, only next to VIP & military vehicles.
When you have technical problems, please be sure to visit the V70 forum to receive accurate replies. I'd like to help you, but I'm an 850 driver and I would probably confuse you more than I could help you with V70.
I hope you find the forum helpful & enjoyable.
Sincerely,
JPN
