Hello everyone,
I just purchased a 2000 S70 GLT SE. I'll get some pics posted soon....it's pretty clean with only 67k miles! I'm a first time Volvo owner, but have always liked the design and build quality. I've owned mostly Ford products since I've had a close relationship with the local dealer for 15 years, but since they picked up Volvo a couple years ago I felt comfortable with giving one a try. I'm looking forward to learning about the ups and downs of ownership and hopefully being able to contribute whenever I can.
I guess I have a couple questions right off the bat.
1. Do I need to be looking at timing belt replacement? Any way to tell if it has been done? Unfortunately, no service records were available.
2. Sometimes, the car feels like the turbo surges at full throttle from about 3,500 to redline. Any ideas?
3. Anything else I should be looking for?
Thanks in advance,
Drew

Welcome to the forum.
Do you know if it has had the ETM recall done?
ETM = Electronic Throttle Module (Which is your throttle body in the car)
1. Ask if the new software for it has been uploaded?
2. Ask if the actual ETM has been replaced if not try to get it replaced under the warranty.
Yes your looking at a timing belt replacement shortly in the next 3,000 miles or so... Between 70,000 - 75,000.
