I just purchased a Certified Owned 2010 Volvo C70 with 10,000 miles. I much prefer this car over our previous 2009 Saab 9-3 Aero convertible as it is considerably larger. My parents bought a new 1972 Volvo 144 when I was young and remember it spending A LOT of time on the backend of a toe truck as the clutch cable broke often.

Welcome to VF. I have to say, Volvo has come a long, long way since 1972 so I would not worry. The C70 is a great car and it will treat you well. If you happen to have some pictures of it, that would be cool to see.
