my name is Mike, i live in Plano TX, just got myself a 2001 V70 XC.. i have wanted a brick for awhile and i finally got one.. im just having to fix the oil leaks the previous owners were too lazy to fix, valve cover and oil pan gasket... otherwise the car is great....

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum.

It is NOT common for these cars to leak oil from the cam cover or oil pan. Look real close for other possibilities.

#2 and #5 cylinder spark plug holes filled with oil. the backside of the engine was soaked, and the whole top of the cover had puddles of oil on it and the rear plug is leaking... was unsure of the pan so i removed to inspect how it looked on the inside... all i know is that i will not be leaking afterwards..

i had suspected turbo but it wasn't and it was coming from the valve cover...
