Hi! I'm new here and thinking about buying a new s40 2004-2005. Still thinking about what options I would get ... navigation system? Leather vs. T-Tec (which is best for dogs?)? How is the reliability?

Unless pricing is very important to you, I would recommend a 2004.5 over a 2004. I drive a 2004 and I regret not buying a .5 a lot. It has a much cleaner, smoother look to it, and it's overall better. Also, if you are still wondering about the leather and cloth seating, I would HIGHLY recommend the leather, unless your dog will ruin it. Try using a towel, mat, or something that will prevent the dog from ruining it, because the leather is VERY nice.

Yeah, I definetly agree, the 2004.5 or 2005 S40 is a much better car than the previous generation of S40's. I am such a huge fan of leather, every Volvo that I have owned has had leather and I would also highly recommend it. Reliability is very good for all Volvos. I would probably buy a 2005 S40 over a 2004.5 because I bet that they have fixed a couple of bugs with the car. Navigation systems are a really nice luxury that are really fun and convenient, buy also very pricey. I am not sure how much the option is on the S40, but I know that it is an expensive option. It all really depends on if it is important enough for you to spend the extra money on. Nice choice in looking at a new S40. Those are great cars!
