New Member in Queensland
Firstly hello to all other members who happen across this intro.
I live here in Brisbane and drive a 2007 built / 2008 Australian delivered C30 D5 auto - never seen a manual version over here. We have owned the car for 8 years now and were very lucky to be able to pick it up at more or less wholesale price from a BMW / Jeep dealer on the Gold Coast who was having no luck shifting this curious looking 3 door hatch with an unusual 5 cylinder diesel engine. So the car had done 80,000km at purchase and is now showing around 170,000km, having been broadly reliable over the whole period of our ownership.
Servicing was a bit difficult at first as Volvo has never really enjoyed great sales here in Queensland so there are relatively few mechanics who are even interested in looking at them. Then, a couple of years ago we were introduced to a British mechanic in our local area who is happy to work on a variety of European cars, although there are some things he can't do, being based out of his home garage.
I do have a couple of questions which will be posted in separate threads but I hope this intro gives a little insight into our background!
