Hey, just signed up. Have to care for wife's 2006 S40i & have found these forums to be very helpful & amusing. Am also on mazda forum for my Protege 5 so hoping to find out all the stuff I need to know & look out for to care & maintain her S40i. Won't be lookin to mod much on her car, just searching out quirks & weaknesses to stay ahead of. This is our 2nd Volvo. She traded in her 2004 S60 & got the new S40i. Really did nothing to the S60, she had maintenance deal on that one. I have just done the 1st oil change on the S40 today. She is at 5900 miles. Went with factory filter & castrol syntec 10-30 since we live in warmer climate. Will never get close to zero here but need the extra hi temp rating of 10-30 since summers are hot. What a different experience. Says 6 qts but took more to get to full mark. Odd filter set up & no access to drain without taking down huge spray pan. All good tho. As always on forums, search is my friend & I will use it before boring the masses with redundant questions..........
