Hi Everyone, I joined to learn more about a car I used to know a lot about, then it fell off my radar, now it is back!

My best friend's father had a 1989 740 GL when I was a teenager. I really liked the clean, crisp look of that car and its modest presence, but solid character. While everyone else drooled over the Mustang 5.0s and IROC-Zs of those days, I liked the conservative, square-edged 240 and 740 Volvos.

I almost purchased a 1993 Volvo 240 many years ago, but was talked out of it.

I then test drove a 740 (or was it a 940?) wagon about ten years ago ... I still remember how much I loved the leather seats ... but it had rodent damage.

Now I am back, and looking at what appears to be a very clean 740 Turbodiesel...so...I am here to learn about that car and whether or not I should make a move!
