new to site/volvos
A couple months ago we bought a 2007 xc90 v8 sport for my wife and we LOVE it.
Our first Volvo. Our first SUV (2 kids, 5ys, 7 mo) and we wanted enough room/seating to take the kids, one or two of their friends and parent(s) in one car...the third row seating is great.
It is also my new tow vehicle for my motorcycle trailer, having finally retired my old Acura Integra...
The day we picked it up.
Found this site looking for info on baby/booster seats for the car. Wanted to know if there were any issues with any brands not fitting well in the seats but a quick search resulted in no such information...
happy to be here...

Hello Sir,
Welcome to the forum, I hope you find it useful & enjoyable.
When you have technical questions, please do a bit of in-forum research as you can often find answers via search. Also, please be sure to post them in the XC90 forum.
The XC90s with GM-built transmission seem to be having problem, which should have been recalled as far as I'm concerned. Quite a few people have been replacing the transmission at as low as 10,000 miles whereas the other models with Yamaha-built transmission don't seem to have similar problem. In case if your XC90 came with the GM unit (T6, I believe? Yamaha seems to come with the V8 model), negotiate with a dealer for free repair.
Welcome to the forum,
JPN

RE: new to site/volvos
thanks everyone for the warm welcome...
for you motorcycle fans, here's a recent picture of me at the track (I gave up street riding this year):
[the vest is because I am a staff rider]
thank you JPN,
I registered specifically to search for a few things I needed to know and was mostly successful. Since reading about the transmission issues I also searched and came to the conclusion our v8 surely has the yamaha, although I haven't physically verified that.
That has to be the nicest "search, noob!" I've ever come across. I'm rather familiar with the forum procedures as I am an admin for one and a regular on a shameful amount of others, lol...
cheers,
