Hi Chat, welcome to the forum.

You can look around at this site and other Volvo sites, they are full of leads to places that help us with out older Volvo's. Here are my favorites: www.iPdUSA.com and www.FCPEuro.com.

Enjoy the car and do read the "New 850 Owners" thread, it has a lot of good information in there for you.

Default Hi Guys

Just Purchased a Volvo v70. It has 144.000. I got it for $3700. I has some scraches on it but I hope to I will get at least 2 years 40.000 out of this car.

I found APM Projector Headlight Assemblies and matching Turn Signal assemblies for my 2000 S70GLT ($3900 w/96k) from RoJoImparts on eBay for about $400 dlvd., but promptly as they showed up, there was ZERO documentation. At the time, I got their last set, but iPd has them at similar price, and some sheets of installation instructions. AA1autoparts has a YouTube installation video; they and AutoLamps Plus had OEM TYC's for $85-115 apiece vs. $300+ each from Dealer.
The APM's that I received had two additional pairs of wires coming out of the back. These are for the "City Lights" strip below the High Beams. You need to purchase small (5w or 7w) clear or amber bulbs (the iPd page gives part numbers) in addition to the main bulbs. The connectors coming out the back can go between the Signal/Parking Light Connector and the Signal Bulb socket. There's a break connector in these wires to get them to fit between Headlamp Assy and car frame if Assy is not removed. Access the "City Light" bulb socket thru the High Beam bulb hatch and a small (37mm ??) round rubber cover on the bottom of Assy. The little rubber socket just pulls out.

They're pretty decent, but there's a weird beam mask like a flattened "check" mark in each, ostensibly to keep from blinding oncoming traffic. I suspect that proper Horizontal aiming has the apex of each bulb's mask coinciding at some distant (50m??) point.
As with OEM Assy, there is a spirit level in each Assy. for Vertical aiming.

C70 Headlights may be a bit different; I don't know.
