Default Noob to the Volvo world

Morning everyone...
Just wanted to say hello to fellow Volvo owners here. Just a little background on me: I have been around the forum for some time now. I do have plenty of experience with Japanese imports and some European imports as well, mainly Audis...

Anyhow long story short I might be getting myself in new project. 2005 Volvo s40 T5. I am hopping to find as much information as needed about the car. Sad to say but the owner is explaining that the engine threw a rod which came out of the oil pan??? Haven't seen the car yet, but its supposed to be a very nice ride with "only" 136K Black on Black FWD and automatic...

I am not new to the concept of rebuilding engines but I am hopping that I am not getting myself into a huge head ache here...

With this being said I am going to dig in the S40 section now to see what the over all conses is about that car...

You may also want to visit www.SwedeSpeed.com. They seem to have more aggressive mechanical info there.
