So I bought a volvo...

You know, it's possible that the previous owner is on these forums. He is a total enthusiast, and was very nice yesterday when I bought it (and it was his birthday).
The story of the car goes that it started overheating but the person didn't notice because they were arguing with their wife and soon enough they blew the head gasket and pretty royally screwed it up.
So the last owner bought it, did a valve job, new head, all new seals and gaskets, new water pump, fuel pump, IAC valve, and probably some other things I can't think of at the moment. Then he got distracted by another project and sold it to me for... $750. I'm happy. But it has a lot of small things to do, like speedometer/odometer not working, glove box latch broken, rips in the seats, small body damage on right side from side swipe that left the tail light broken and door only opening from inside (window/lock functions normal), no dome light, etc.
Regardless, seems like (barring unforeseen circumstances) that I got exactly what I wanted - a safe car, with good mpg, that is relatively low maintenance, and can carry plenty of stuff, for a low price and (hopefully) only minor, mostly cosmetic things to do.
That's enough for now. Cheers! And if there is a Mike here who just sold one of these with the same story, well.. I hope you had a good birthday!
