Hello all,
i am a first time volvo owner.
was recently shopping for a well-used wagon
and came across a 1998 volvo v70 t5 w 133k miles.
she's silver.

didn't even really want a turbo and had little idea
how much the t5 had to offer until after i had bought it
from the previous owner.

i am quite pleased.

i look forward to learning as much as possible about
this vehicle so that i can properly maintain it and maybe
even add a few mods...

Congrats and good choice! I've had a 98 v70awd (t5) as a daily driver for several years now. Now has 198k miles. No major problems or complaints. Had the radiator replaced at 185k. It is plastic and will fail at some point. Had the blower replaced for heater/ac at same time. The shifter button is another common problem, but mine still works if I occasionally have to fiddle with it to click into place. AWD common problem but haven't had that issue. Turbo hose leaks are common. The routing of these can make some of the replacements quite expensive. Had one by wheel well replaced at 150k and it was couple hundred dollars. Still have a engine check code on this and haven't been able to find it. 20k miles later and decided I'm not worrying about it. Timing belt replacement isn't cheap. With yours at 130k definately make sure it has been replaced and find out at what mileage. Otherwise, my experience as someone who's owned many many vehicles from exotic, luxury to economy, is that my v70 drives better at almost 200k than ones I've owned at 70k. Very well built. Have fun with it!
