I've browsed this forum in the past, but thought it prudent I join today. I'm self-employed as a Volvo specialist for the last 12 years. Prior to that I have been self-employed in the import automotive field since 1971, having grown at one point to a 15 employee facility. I've been in Hawaii all my life and have lived here in Kailua-Kona since moving here in 1972, except for a 5 year stint in Honolulu working for Volvo Hawaii. While in Kona I've been the local Volvo service liason for Volvo Hawaii since 1978. I had a full service facility up until moving to Honolulu in 1990. During that time Ihad a machine shop, parts department and 5 bay shop. I performed service and maintenance on all import makes and models, and was contractedby the dealers inHonolulu and Hilo for VW, Porsche, Audi, Fiat, Volvo, Toyota, Madza, Suzuki, MG,Triumph and others to handle warranty service and repairs.
Having scaled back to primarily Volvo with less emphasis on Saab, I have been a one-man shop since 1995. I look forward to joining in here on this forum, as time permits, and contributing when and where Ican.
Aloha!

I'm new to the post today, so I hope you are still on.
I'm moving from the mainland to Oahu and wondering if you could give me some advice on what PM I should have done on 2004 C70 before leaving?
I plan to have the oil changed and a tune up, as I assume it would be cheaper to take care of things here in Georgia. The odometer just hit 69,000 today.
I bought it used in 2007 and have not had the transmission fluid changed and wondered if that was something I should do.
I am currently self employed and not working, so I need to be careful about my expenses, but want to take care of my car. I have put on new tires since I bought it and a new battery and alternator last year.
Thank you in advance for your advice or anyone else's advice.
