I've just bought a 1991 240 se Torslanda estate. Astonishingly good condition. Light rust around rear wheel arches to be cleaned up shortly: otherwise a lengthy clean/valet is required to get rid of sticky farmyard moss and a truly astounding amount of dog hair mainly in the rear of the vehicle and I should uncover an extremely clean virtually rust free (apart from rear arches) silver car. Some black detailing may need to be replaced as there is some peeling. 88k, service history to 76k (loads of paperwork), 8k in past 4 yrs new exhaust (seller thought it was damaged but closer inspection revealed that it was merely poorly attached to its mounting points). I bought it two weeks ago and I've covered about 8-900 miles. Seller (on auction site) was not entirely happy with price but that's the risk one takes... maybe he should have cleaned it up first. I'll be posting pictures soon after it's been tidied up. Amazing build quality. I was advised to purchase a 240 as it was apparently regarded as the last of the "old school" Volvos. Mint!

I read (on Wikepedia which incidentally lists year of production as 93) that the Torslanda was only produced in very small numbers mainly for Swedish market. Trim designed to resist cold weather more effectively, limited internal electrical equipment etc. Any further info would be interesting
