Default UK mechanic Spanish resident, V70 2002

Hi all,

Forgive me for jumping into your forum but it seems to be the best for what ails me, a 2002 V70DS,
I am 73 and a mechanic since 1963, starting on Lambrettas, Capri and Vespa scooters, progressing through Honda and Kawasaki to anything with an engine and even today some 8 years after I am supposed to have 'retired' on what is a pathetic UK pension, I have to keep doing odd jobs on anything from mopeds to Nissan M110-14 6 Liter trucks to keep the wolf from the door, even in 'cheaper' Spain.

I can see that many threads are very old, going back to 2010/2014 and a lot still unresolved, seem to have died out and even some recent ones have "no relies"which is strange, also a lot of self opinionated replies rather than straight facts on experience based advise. I would also comment that not many can afford Volvo's (expensive) prices and replacement parts and have to 'make and mend' as best possible. Parts for 20 year old cars are getting scarce in some areas too.

It's not just on this forum and it is NOT a complaint or criticism, just an observation, I even have it on my own forum for Eagle Kit Cars.

Still I live in hope of curing the old girl with some help from you guys..
