Default Volvo in my future

Hi everyone. I don't have a Volvo yet; but I'm looking. It's going to be a wagon with a manual transmission. I'm not sure which model yet. I've been looking at 850's and V70. The manual transmission requirement might make it a long search. Anyway glad to be here.

There was one for sale here just a few days ago, but I guess it is gone. I had to go look. Anyway, the 850's are are pretty bulletproof. Starting in 1998 you might find a turbo with a manual.

Turbo with a manual would be fun. I'm in Oklahoma and I've not seen any candidates around here. But traveling for the right car is not an issue.

I went through the long-time hunt myself in wanting a solid wagon. I just came across what I thought was the perfect project jar and think I may have jumped the gun on a bit of a pig. I had a tough time finding cars without a lot of rust or run into the ground because these things go forever. Good luck hopefully you find the right car and don’t jump on one too early lol

Well if and when I find one in my area the paint might be a little faded but there should be no rust.

i wasn’t sure what the salt and snow situation was in Oklahoma. Here in New York they dump it on the roads 10x thicker than any snow we ever get so it just eats the older cars. Luckily the late 80s and newer Volvos had better metal treatment and such so they don’t have such bad rot. Mine has a few small spots I’ve found while going over the car but nothing a wire brush and some POR-15 can’t take care of. My car is silver and has almost a stainless steel Delorean brushed metal look from the old paint, but I’m not going for a show quality car just a fun driver.

If you want to start at the top, there's an 850R manual swapped on Knoxville, TN craigslist. Bit money, though.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm in the 2500-3500 range. Odd the mileage is not listed in the ad
