Post Volvo V70 T5

Am new to the forum, needing some advice from other owners regarding my 1998 Volvo V70 T5. It has 130K+ miles and has been a great car. Except for the usual driver's seat wear, and the need for some suspension work, it was in pretty much pristine condition. Just gave it a new set of tires.

One day last week, the car stopped cold at a stoplight with a catastrophic coolant failure that wrecked the engine. Our trusted mechanic says it needs a $6000 fix, which includes newly rebuilt engine, radiator and replacing about every other major deal under the hood except the transmission, which would have to be drained.

Question: I know Volvos get exteme miles, but is this fix worth the investment, given the car's age and Blue Book value? We love the car, and tend to keep cars for the long haul. (We have two 2001 V70s and another 1998 V70 GT.)

Any words of wisdom appreciated.
