Volvo Virgin!
Hi guys, after the demise of my horrible Rover 400 (never again!) my partner warmed me to idea of being a Volvo owner. After searching for a week or so I now have my first Volvo! 1997 460 CDi. Wow!! I absolutely love it! 115,000 miles on the clock but serviced every 10,000 from new by a Main dealer. It seriously IS like a brand new car! I think only a driver has ever sat in it! Definately motorway miles anyway beacuse the level of wear inside is very minimal. It's silver in colour with a kind of satin finish, virtually unmarked too. Leather seats, air con, cruise control, everything works except the power window rocker switch in the back. I've checked it too, the window is fine, it's just the switch. Hopefully I'll be able to repair it, if not a replacement won't exactly break the bank! Anyway, I'm just so pleased with my new car, 12 months MOT and 6 months tax included, it's a lot of car, for very little money!
Looking forward to posting on here and finding out all sorts about my Volvo.
Cheers guys!

RE: Volvo Virgin!
Hello Wez,
Greetings from Chicagoland, U.S.
Glad you've got amarvelous Volvo. I wonder if 460 CDi is available only in EU or UK. Anyway, as long as it's Volvo, your safety on the road is better than most other passenger cars.
The car was lucky that it was driven by a caring owner. In the U.S., many drivers do not follow scheduled maintenance, and think that oil change alone will make the car last a long time, which is not true (though oil change is indeed one of the most critical services a car needs, and even though Volvo engines are noted for over 200,000-300,000 miles of services without overhaul, they are extremely sensitive to the correct quality & quantity of oil. So I'drecommend that you keep an eye on the oil level as frequently as you can.
Cheers mate,
JPN
