Hey, I'm new here...so I'm introducing myself.

Let's get this straight - I'm a girly girl and I don't know very much about cars. But if there's one kind I'm in love with, it's definitely Volvo. I currently have a 1981 240 sedan that is my baby and I am fixing it up as I get the money (I'm a college student, I'm poor). I'm also inches away from buying a 1996 850 GLT wagon for around $1800. I joined the forums because I'd like to better serve my car (it serves me pretty well, after all) and get to know the Volvo world more.

Hello girly girl Flora,

Greetings from a girly guy.

>I'm a college student, I'm poor
Been there & done that, for twice actually.

>I'm also inches away from buying a 1996 850 GLT wagon for around $1800.
A turbo 850 is a fun to drive car, see if you can find one for similar price.

Green Mountain College, Poultney, Vermont Class of 1997.
Burlington is my favourite town. 80% of my friends are in VT and I'm currently stuck in Japan.

Welcome to the forum, I hope you find it helpful & enjoyable.

Hi Floral_mae

I'm new to this dorum as well. I have a 1980 Volvo 242 GT, which my dad and I have done quite a bit of work on. I also know what it is like to be a poor college student who is trying to fix up their older Volvo. If you have a project, I might be of some help.
