Default Xc60 thermostat

2016 Volvo XC60. Put 3 Thermostats on it and a new backup battery. The last Thermostat was a Volvo bought from the dealer. Identical to the Orielys thermostat and actually $20.00 cheaper.
the temperature operates normal at idle. However, when driving temperature drops to bottom of scale. The cabin heat temperature is barely above static temperature. The thermostat shows ground on both sides. Any ideas of cause? Thanks
Determined that while driving if the cabin temp selector stays at 74*F or below. System appears to operate normal. Above 74* the engine temp gauge drops to the bottom indication
