Hello all. New to the forum as I just purchased a 2003 Volvo XC70. Replacing bulbs in my climate control unit, I disconnected without pulling the negative battery cable and now I have the SRS light. Is there anyone in the central NJ area with a VIDA setup that can clear the code before I get this inspected? $20, 6-pack of IPA of your choice? Bottle of wine? Pack of baseball cards? Name a price if helping a new Volvo owner out of the goodness of your heart is not good enough. Thanks

 

you don't need a VIDA to clear a SRS code, you just need a top end OBD2 reader that can view/clear chassis codes. I'd expect most indy shops would be able to do this - mine will view and clear codes for free. Just google "volvo certified mechanics" and put in a town near you to see what comes up.

I checked out my Launch CReader VII+ and sure enough, it has the capability to read and clear SRS codes. It doesn't for my 2002 Mercedes so I didn't even think to check for the Volvo. Code cleared in about a minute.
