Default Abandoned Suzuki GS550

Anyone interested in motorcycles know much about them? I think it's a 1977 or 1978 model, not sure. Are they popular, what's their price range these days, parts and cost? Are they worth fixing?? My aunt and uncle have this old building downtown in St. Louis and used to have a taxi driver rent the upstairs floor many years ago. However he left one day without notice and left his bike behind. It's been sitting in their shed for 19 years. Tags was in 91'. Oh yeah, forgot about the title too, can they sell it? Don't have a title. They're trying to get rid of it for years and I don't think my dad want me to have the motorcycle siting in our backyard since I'm interested if it even runs and want to sell it myself after fixing it up a bit for profit.

it is prob worth something, most older bikes are. It depends on what state you are in, but i have gotten a title for an abandoned vehicle. usually each state has a process.

Will vary from state to state: You have to post an add in the local newspaper for 90 days with a description and the VIN number. If no one claims it then it's yours.

You would then have to apply for a title with the state. My dad had a 1982 GS850 (shaft driven, straight 4, 4 speed) it was repainted all High gloss Black and a couple of select chrome additions. It was a sharp bike and was really fast. Funny thing was the speedometer only registered 85mph. You would blow past it in 2nd gear and still had 2 more gears to go!

It was fun but was heavy and bulky.

It's over 30 yrs old and considering how long it's been sitting, i doubt it runs; will cost more than it's worth to get it running...
