Default Full-Time Employment!!!

So I graduated college in 2006 and started in Freelance work. I moved to Part-Time a little over a year ago. I have been interviewing and sending in my materials to many places for Full-Time employment.

Well I got a call back today for a job I interviewed for a few months back. They had hired someone else and either that person quit or got fired doesn't matter, they called me today and offered me the job.

They have to do a background check but if that goes through I will have the job. So most likely I have Full-Time employment now in the up coming weeks!!!!

I am very happy.

CONGRATS! getting a new job is always exciting! I'm in the same scenario - waiting on a background check to go through and then moving to a new position as well!

I just started a new job two years ago. At my age I should be thinking about retirement not finding a job, but I lost most of my retirement with the Enron and WorldCom crap. I hope to work until I'm 72 so I will have 15 years in with Nationwide.

Congratulations man. Hope everything works out.

Congratulations on getting hired onfull time!!

Hopefully I'm next. I've beenbeen laid off since early November, and it's getting old.

There isn't muchhappening in manufacturing up here in Detroit however, so sales opportunities in capital equipment are scarce as hens teeth these days. I'm keeping busy sending out resumes and taking care of the house (fortunately my wife has a good career position), but I'm sure itching to get back into the game already!

Since I got laid off from WCOM in 1995 I have been unemployed three times for a total of about nine months. I can not think of anything much worse than being out of work when you need the money. If it wasn't for my in laws helping us out, I would have lost my home the last time. I was out selling Rainbow Vacuum cleaners just trying to make ends meet. I sold a few too, but was not making anywhere need what we needed. I'm still not making what I was making in 95, but at least I have a steady income.

Been there & done that myself. In J@p@n, your life is determined at the age of 23-27. After that, you're considered a social failure andif you're pastage 35, that's pretty much it; the reason for 35,000+/year suicide rate.Things have changed; the majority used to be good middle-class but now many are becoming what is called working-poor, means they have jobs but arebarely making enough to pay the bills. This country is really fxxxed up thanks to the gov & larger corporate execs.

Anyway, enough whining. Best of luck on your full-time job S70. Don't take it for granted and "Arrive before starting time & stay beyond quitting time"; a quote I read somewhere.

Well I haven't got the job yet. I was offered the job and I said YES. However they have to do a background check and if all goes well I will have the job.

But I can give two weeks notice to my current Part-Time employer till I know for sure I have the new job. So I should know by Monday or so if I have the new job then I can give two weeks notice to my old job and then I can move on to the Full-Time job (a.k.a NEW JOB).

I would be working afternoon to nights three days a week and early mornings till noon Sat/Sun and off Thursday Friday and yes it is Full-Time making just over 40 hours a week. So I will be around, maybe not as much as I want to be, but I will be around.
