New edition to our home
My wife and I brought home a new cat this past friday night - nobody wanted her because she lost her right front leg dued to a previous break that wasnt set properly, causing her to lose use of the leg. So far shes fitting in GREAT - getting along with the other cats, exploring, running around, playing, etc. She even slept on us her first night home.
We've also sort of renamed her - being that I'm one of those math/engineering geeks, we went from Callie to Callie-pi. =D I think most people here will get the reference.

Love to hear about this and good for you!
I've spent much time in Malaysia and in the Philippines - it's very sad and rather appalling the way that "non-income generation" animals are treated. There are so many wild cats and dogs around, and the dogs in particular look entirely mal-treated. The governments in these countries could care less - they are far more inclined to line their own pockets rather than worry about stray dogs and cats on the streets. It's utterly pathetic!
