Recent Purcahses (Car, Etc...)

RE: Recent Purcahses (Car, Etc...)
Haven't been buying much of anything or spending money on anything but essentials since I've been out of work since October...
but yesterday I picked up $100 worth of filters, oil and transaxle lube in order to service my two mowers in preparation of mowing season. I'll be under the tractors in the coming days.
The oil change is coming due on the XC90 soon and will be doing that myself too.

Tamiya acrylic paint, X-32 Titanium Silver x 3. Price keeps going up thanks to the cost of oil, those little paints are now approx $1.80 ea.
On my next paycheck Tamiya's 1/32 F-16 is on its way.
And still looking for 18 years old Glenlivet, which is hard to find around here.
BTW, the next thing I knew, the Minneapolis-based airline I work for became Atlanta-based[8D].

Oil, oil filters, air filters, transaxle filter and fluid, and fuel filter to do spring maintenance on the garden tractor (455 John Deere diesel) and lawn mower (ExMark Lazer Z).
JPN, good luck with the transition to working for an Atlanta-based company! With any luck they'll do a better job of recognizing your talents and arrange for your return to the good old U.S. of A., where you'll be able to find your 18 y.o. Glenlivet much more readily! As an added benefit, the weather in Atlanta is MUCH better year around than in Chicago OR in MSP! (or Detroit for that matter...)

RE: Recent Purcahses (Car, Etc...)
Noted, thanks.
It's been a year + a month sinceI was forced out of the homeland, and my English is already starting to sound EngRish, but still far better than the co-workers' Ingrizh, some flight crews & cabin attendants are irritated by the locals' broken English[8D].
Actually, Japan is the largest importer of Scotch yet I haven't been able to find 18 years old (or older) Glenlivet. I guess they are all consumed in Tokyo.
My recent single malt purchase was Yoichi-by Nikka Whiskey (approx $14 for a tiny bottle, 10-year old). I've tried a few brands of Japanese whiskey and so far Yoichi is the closest to genuine Scotch in flavour. It seems that good distilleries seem to be in colder regions + close to the ocean.

Approx $50 (MSRP:$100), anda bottle usually lasts me 2 months (not a heavy drinker). Hey, after months of nonsense in J@p@n, I deserve it[8D].

RE: Recent Purcahses (Car, Etc...)
Let's see,
I picked up a 12-piece forged knife/block set from Kohls. When they're $21 plus shipping you don't really have a choice, do you? Got 3 Timberland thermals for $5 each. Again, I didn't have any choice. Steve Madden shoes for $34. Do you see a pattern? And my proudest achievement: a new-ish headlight from a 2006 S60 for $38 including shipping off ebay. I have plans to do both but if I can save money by buying them separately then so be it.
If anyone is looking for a new wireless desktop, Staples has the MS wireless desktop 6000 (really, really good) for $30 this week. I'm sure they will sell out but most stores issue substitutes at/above the original price point. It's a $100 set. Worth it. I'd snag one but I already have 2.

RE: Recent Purcahses (Car, Etc...)
Two Acer Aspire AS6920 laptops for $699.99+tax each at Circuit City (great deal!)
Radiator, thermostat, PCV, coolant reservoir and coolant reservoir cap
4 new tires
$200 coat for my wife's birthday
$30 sushi
Still need to spend another 1.5K to get the car in decent conditions.
I really broke the piggy bank this month!
