Default Sorry Guys

I will not be on very much for maybe the next week.

The wifes Grandfather passed away tonight. (Like a Father to her. She lived with them for years.)

I will have to take the family to South Carolina maybe this weekend.

That means we will have to take both of the Volvo's on the trip.

That also means I will be very busy over the next couple of days after work taking care of things on both cars so we can make the trip safely.

If I can I will post how things are going but not sure if I will be able to make it on.

I will check in when I get back.

Hope all is well while I am gone.

Wow. Seems like a lot of bad things have been happening lately. Hopefully everything gets much better.

Remember, family comes first.

Hi Tech,

My sincere condolence on your wife's Grandpa. Last year I lost one of my best friends in Vermont; he was 79 years old. This May I lost another best friend in Vermont, he was at 84 or so. I'm 34 but many of my friends are much older than I am.

Forget the forum for a while. You've been doing more than enough for people you don't even know and have helped God knows how many Volvo owners.

I wish you have a safe trip. Take a break once/hour or so until you get there, I'msure you will do so without my saying.

We'll take care of the forum while you're gone, not to worry.

I wish you have some peaceful, quiet hours with your family.

Sincerely,

Kanji Kotaki/JPN

My sincere condolences to you, your wife, and your family.
As an elderly acquaintance once said "we all have our turn one day".
It is in times like these that you appreciate the support and love of
family and close friends.

Tech,

You don't have to apologize to use for anything. As others said, family comes first. We will pray for your family and for a safe trip. When you're back, your're back. Until then, take care of the important thing, your family.

I just saw the thread Tech. My condolences to your family. We will be thinking of you. Take care and let me know which is hotter when you are home and settled. SC versus FL. I grew up in Columbia, it is pretty toasty there. Hope those evaporators are in good shape on both the cars.

Take care and our prayers will be with you all.

Ok guys Im back.
Everything went as good as can be expected.

I am trying to catch up on posts can't do them all in one day.
So if anyone posted something they wanted me to look at and I miss it just repost something in the thread and I will find it them.

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone. It is very much appreciated here.

It was just as hot there as it is here in FLA. I was hoping to get a break from the heat by going there but no luck in that one.

The car averaged about 24-25 MPG going up and coming back. I am very happy with how it drove with the 4 new tires and everything else I have done to it.

Thank again for all the kind words!!!

Very good to hear.

Did both cars average 24-25?

She got one more gallon better than me per tank.
We averaged filling up the same time her car took 12 gallons mine took 13 gallons.
So she probably got about 26 per gallon or close to it.

Welcome home, Tech.

While you were gone, I offered people with my "chisel & hammer" solutions so not to worry.

Stubborn fasteners: chisel & hammer.
CEL: chisel & hammer.
ABS/TRAC: chisel & hammer.
Donor car: chisel & hammer.
Neighbour: chisel....let's not go there[8D].

The forum seems to trigger "CEL" whenever you are gone for more than a day or two.

I wish you the best for your family.
