I go for Ford for the following reasons:

1. Many GM products are obsolete inside & out, and you can see poor quality, especially on the interior finish. It is a shame that even though Camaro & Corvette are great cars, their interior look like they're madeat atoy factory.
2. Fords are a bit easier to work on as far as I'm concerned.
3. Ford was the pioneer of innovative mass-production.
4. I used to drive old & beat-up Ford trucks at work, and as long as you take good care, they are really durable. One thing I don't like about American & cheaper Japanese cars, is that their bodies are easy to rust, whereas Volvo's exterior seems indestructible against rust.

However, luxury divisions are a different story. If I had to choose between Lincoln & Caddy, I won't think twice grabbing Caddy.

All of the above is based on my prejudice, simply my personal opinions.

This is tough. Growing up, my dad (and my wife's dad) went through a ton of Fords that were pieces of junk. (Escorts and the like) Then in high school, my dad had a mid-life crisis and bought a brand-new Camaro (first new car in the family ever). Obviously, my dad and I loved that car (compared to the previous ones, we didn't know better). Then, when I was driving, I got an '83 Chevy Cavalier for $500 that turned out to be junk (what do you expect for $500?). When I got rid of that car, I was actually given an 83? Ford Mustang that was great! I loved driving that car and would race a coworker home after work who had a brand-new (1998ish) Cavalier Z24. I would beat him with my 15-year old stock Mustang. I eventually blew the engine gunning it around a bend (down-shifted then heard a pop and saw smoke). Since then, I've gone through a Toyota, Mitsubishi, VW and Volvo.

Point is, I'm not really sure where my loyalties lie, but I still have this nagging memory of being stranded in Virginia on the way back to CT from NC because another piece of crap Ford broke down. So, I guess my vote is for Chevy.

Well, I follow the axiom,

"I would rather push a Chrysler that's towing a Chevy before I drove a Ford!!!"

Also,
"I would rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than for a Drive by the river with Ted Kennedy!

Can I say GMC instead of Chevy? haha.

Seriously though, I prefer GM products. I think that whole "every Ford/Chevy I was ever around was complete junk" doesn't apply. It's all in the owner history. It's just a shame that most peoplewho end up with the "junk" cars are second + owners. It's usually the first owner that causes them to be junk for the next owners. Just my opinion though. Every car company builds junk, and every car company has some good cars. It's how you treat 'em.

My Typhoon is junk, but I still love it. [8D]

I'm very biased towards GM since they pay the bills. FST, FTW!

to quote the phrase " that is like being the smartest person with down syndrom" when it comes to picking between these manufacturers. However i am very biased, i do not like 99 percent of american cars. and the one percent is the Viper. Love that car. I like Euro and asian vehicles. Both have it where it counts imo.
