new wiper blades
New wiper blades...trico tech beam blades. Got them online and easy install. The new, lower, offset mount on them lets the arms sit slightly lower - look great.

I think this thread should be in General Chat.
Anyway, on the S90: - Installed the water pump. - Installed the timing belt. New belt, tensioner roller, and marked the alignment marks. - Installed a headlight rear cover. - Replaced the thermostat. - Installed a battery. - Changed the oil. - Inflated the DS rear tire. Guess which job was the HARDEST??? The freeking oil change. The worse oil change ever. The oil filter was stuck. When I put the wrench on it the filter crushed. Then I moved it and the wrench broke. I put a screw driver through it and the filter tore. I put a chizel through it and it tore apart. I pulled it totally apart and had a hard time finding the right combination of screw drivers and leverage bar to twist the base off. Took me about 40 minutes to get that dang filter off. Now I'm hoping that I didn't damage whatever it is connected to like the oil pump. I'll try to drive it and clean it up tomorrow. Not sure if I want to replace the fuel filter. Yikes! |
Replaced the spark plugs
Had been putting it off, never seem to get around to it...
My S70 died in front of the house out in the cul-de-sac. Grabbed the plugs I had laying around for a good long while and changed the plugs out in the street. Couldn't believe how easy it was to take out the old ones. I've had lawn mowers that had plugs that we're harder to remove. She started right up. Wow. Much better, took her out on the interstate, nice. Don't put it off...do it. You can. |
S90:
- Installed wiper blades. - Replaced hood lifts. - Cleaned carpets & floo mats. - Cleaned under the hood & trunk area. - Replaced the drivers door mirror. - Cleaned parts of the motor & installed t-belt other parts. |

I'm not sure. I took the old ones off of my 960 and put new Rain X ones on my 960. They may also be Rain X brand.
I replace blades as soon as they need changing. Just to cheap of an item to deal with not being able to see that well. I also clean the insides of my windows often, probably 4 times per year. |
Change oil and filter, put grease on lower arms? on contact areas to stop noise when turning.
|
Got the radio on in the S90. Also swapped a few more parts from the S90 to the 960.
- Trunk lifts - Dash wood grain. Also installed a new battery in the S90. The old one I tried to use was just to weak to make the cut. |
