I ordered all new air conditioning parts, a new water pump, and a sun visor clip for my 1992 Volvo 240 Wagon. It was $670 worth in parts. Excited to have all these things done!

Got a quote today for the 850R for a revamp exterior.

Changed the oil in a customer's S70 base. It was 4,000 miles into the cycle at 168,628 and only had 2.5 quarts in the motor. YIKES!!!

Today my car changed oil and filter

I blacked out the grille today but kept the chrome slash so it blended better with the black headlamp housings with the chrome lights...

Very nice.

I finished up my valve stem seals and valve lapping, and replaced the oil trap and used some radiator hose in place of the old hoses, and put on standard screw type hose clamps. On a side note i have no idea where 50% of my vacuum lines and where most of the bolts go when i start re-assembly of the engine.

I put in the wiring today, and I had put the hitch in during the week. Now I can use a little utility trailer safely and legally.

I installed a new sun visor clip on the driver side of my 1992 240. I also received almost $700 worth in car parts for my car today. That entails a new water pump, an new A/C Compressor, a Receiver/Dryer, an expansion tube, a condenser, and a lower radiator hose since the one on the car is original. Now that I've paid almost $700 for parts... labor will probably be a fortune.. haha

850R

Started to remove the turbo for an upgrade. No fun getting that puppy out. Still the original from factory.

Got quotes for parts for the suspension. Probably will use some aftermarket products after a bit of research.

Finally got round to removing floor panels to get at those damned battery-sucking light bulbs.

I can work out where the pedals are without having to see me feets!

Gave the forum a chance to tell me how to disable them via fuses, but no one responded. Matters taken into own hands.

Changed my headlight switch and put some Lucas engine cleaner in it in hopes my check engine light goes off, if not I'll clean my MAF soon.

Kuda Jan 22, 2013 10:35 AM

Finally got the turbo out of the 850R. To my surprise it is a 16T. 16T not suppose to be on a 850R auto. Turbo is pretty worn out so I will have this one refurbished to go on the S60 to replace that 13G. 850R will be getting a shiny new 19T.

Negotiated a good price for a brand new 850R engin (it will go in after the rebuild to handle the 19T) rods etc etc

AMELIAdetonated Jan 23, 2013 04:49 PM

Just bought a new intercooler piping set & scheduled with my mechanic / best friend to hit the junk yard & find some temp interior to fix my cracked dash! Also added power steering fluid for the 2nd time this week... power steering pump is next!

Kuda Jan 24, 2013 02:54 AM

Took the 850R injectors out and cleaned them properly, old but they still work fine. The 850R is getting greens btw. In the spur of the moment decided they are better of in the S60 so they are happy there. Reason for this is the s60 developed last 2 weeks a flooding of the chambers which was driving me insane when it is startup time. I will see how that work out. Car drive fine with them so far.

Will be around later to the volvo dealer with a list as long as my arm for lots of little o rings, pipes, injectors etc etc for the 850R.

Amazing how some people fail to look after a car. Everything on this 850R is stock from the factory and even after all this time still functional but worn. So it is a task to take everything step by step and replace as I go.

KUDA, You dont just throw on a 19T and greens and go. You need engine management. Be careful with what you do, dont just 'decide' and go. Do some research and get much more out of your car.

Here is a good read: Modifying Fwd Turbo Volvos (Read, Don't Comment) - Performance Modifications - Volvospeed Forums

and by the way, the later model 850R did come with a 16T.

Kuda Jan 25, 2013 03:19 AM

If it sounded that way then U have mistaken what I am doing. I have done the research and this car is being rebuild rods etc and everything else it need to go with a 19T and greens. I am still deciding on which engine management I will use.

Thumbs up for the link but I am constantly researching i promise U every day.

This 850R is an auto but nonetheless i am happy that it got a 16T.

Just to clarify before the new engin go in while i am getting the car to stage 0 i will run it with the 16T and 350cc white injectors or 315cc orange.

Thx for the headup.

Spent a little over $1300 on my Volvo 240 wagon. We had a new blower motor put in, the air conditioning redone, and a new water pump put on. I also bought a new wiper for the rear window.

Kuda Mar 7, 2013 04:29 AM

850R

Turbo redone and fitted. New distributor and rotor. Lots of new pipes. Engine not running to smooth, I will know more after an italian tune. One of the injectors might be blocked or for some reason i have the plug wires wrong on the distributor. Grrrrrrr
