Where were you on 9/11/01. I wont forget where I was.

I was in my senior year of high school. I was walking down the hallway and over heard someone talking about it. I went to my classroom where I was suppose to go and my teacher had the TV on. I then realized that my one uncle works right next to the WTC. And I immediately ran down to the first floor of the school and got on the phone to mom to see if he was alright.

Turns out he wasn't in his office at the time but somewhere else in the city. But his office was damaged.

I woke up to the Second plane hitting the tower.
The TV was on in the room.
I know alot of people that work/live in the city.

I was Packed already to Leave for N.J. was leaving that night to head up there for a Buddy's wedding.
It was the wackiest thing I have ever seen after that I lived in West Palm Beach Florida. And nothing but Fighter jets over head flying around.

Left that night at about 10:00 Pm for N.J. Not a Cop in sight till I hit N.J. but when you drive on the N.J. Turnpike you drive through and area you can see the city. I will never Forget what I saw when I hit that spot.

It was Nothing but A Big Dust cloud around the entire city. And the site of the towers missing gave me Goosebumps.

Then they Shut down a part of the turnpike for the Trucks carring the supplies to the City. I have never seen so many Cops at one time escorting trucks.

But that is where I was.

i remember it vividly. i was 19, living with my dad (going through a rough period in life). i woke up, on the couch, and started channel surfing. i dont remember what channel it was on, since i started watching the second i crossed it. it was just after the 1st plane hit, they were taking phone calls from witnesses in the area. i kept thinking to myself there was no way somebody could do this on purpose.

as i was watching, the 2nd plane hit, and i sat straight up on the couch, mouth open. there was no mistaking it, we were attacked. i sat there for a good 2 hours watching the news. i didnt realize i had sat watching that long, since i was too sick to my stomach to get up. my girlfriend at the time was going to the high school about 2 blocks from the house, and she would come over during her lunch break (i was out of school, just got home from Basic Training). she heard what happened, and i remember holding her in my arms, because we both knew i was going to war. we had no way of knowing when, but we both knew. we called her mom to pick her up (since she was frantic anyways), because i was afraid to leave the phone, expecting 'the call'. about 7:30 that evening, my unit called, and said be ready, the order can come at any moment.

a year went by, but it finally came, i was called up to serve in iraq. i spent 18 months crossing all of iraq, kuwait, and touching just inside of Syria and Jordan. before every mission i went out, i made sure to thank the mother F**kers that got me here, who killed our people, and who had broken several families that day. i was thanking them, for if i were to ever come face to face to just one of them, i would have to give him just a taste of the torture he put millions through. Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Friends, everything, was robbed for a number of people. i may not have lost somebody personally in the attacks, but i am very proud of my country, and that was personal enough for me. i cant fathom the loss those had during that day. the confusion they must have suffered, before they even found out for sure if they're loved one was even in the area. then the ungodly hurt when they did find out the truth.

i could sit and go on about this for hours, but back to topic:

after i got that call, i stayed up and watched the reports. i stayed up all night untill i was sure the papers were being delivered, and i waited at a gas station for them to arrive. i bought an entire bundle from the paper delivery truck. i still have one locked in a safe, never to be opened. i will never forget, but i want my children to see the news first hand the day after it happened. i want them to know how valuable our way of life is, and what it means to others, and to truely understand how others view the u.s.

I woke up, turned on the TV, it was just after the second plane hit the Tower. I had forgotten that my mother-in-law and her sisters were flying out of Philly to the west coast that morning. My wife was downstairs, and I said did she see what was going on. She had not yet turned on a TV. It was not good for awhile until we heard they were all OK.

I was at work and I heard the news from one of the shop guys who was listening to the radio. He first told me that a plane had flown through the towers and got stuck. I thought that was rediculous and tried to find something on the net about it. Then he came running back into my office and told me that another plane had hit the tower. Since we didnt have a TV at work we all came out and listened to the shop radio at they had gone to steady coverage at that point. I will never forget that day as well, even though I am Canadian it still hit me pretty hard, I knew there was going to be a war. I appreciate what you did in Iraq flamejet but please dont forget that it was Osama not Saddam who started the war on terror. Also please remember that the Canadians are still fighting in Afganistan and are getting killed there as well. I am very proud of my country as well as wish that everyone who is out fighting for us everyday will be able to come home safely.

i totally agree, saddam had little if anything to do with it. but, that would be crossing into politics, and the golden rule of conversations is :

"never discuss 3 topics in public - Politics, Abortion, and Religion."

i met several different people from other nation's armed forces - i dont think i seen canadian, but i did come across Yugoslovian, Russian, Brittish, and even Iraqi national guardsmen. theres a lot of people laying down their lives because some monster wanted to make a statement.
