I'll keep an eye out for a red s70. . . actually...I think I saw you merging onto RT 2/140N in westminster the other day... nice speed..

Rob, 35, of Orange City, FL. I joined the Army right out of High School and spent 11½ years active doing the Airborne Infantry thing, then working on PATRIOT missile systems. I'm in the FL Guard now, but getting to the end of my enlistment. I currently work at the Daytona 500 Experience at the speedway in Daytona Beach as a Ride and Service Technician.

Axel, 34, computer programmer/analyst from Argentina. I have also lived in the US, Brazil and Paraguay. Married with 2 kids. I used to work for an American company, now I am self employed. It has been a roller coaster ride, but I am enjoying it. I specialize in gasoline retail automation software. I am trying to learn a bit about electronic circuit design and printed circuit board manufacturing. Embedded Linux and microcontroller programming are next on my list.-

Kaan here. I teach at Univ. Kentucky in Lexington, KY at the College of Ag. Chugging along with the 01 S60 2.4T. Came back to a Volvo after misguided attempts at a Dodge and an Audi S4. Loved the S4 but didn't like the blown bi-turbo and the $4K repair. Lived in Carbondale Illinois for 13 years. Drove a used 240 for God knows how long (college was a haze at So. Ill. ) till it finally crapped out at 600k. Always a Cubs and a Bears fan.

Hey Saluki S60. Mom and dad lived in C'dale from 79 - 91. Spent some summers and visits there, though never attended SIU (WKU & U ofL grad). Live in E'town now. Remember Gatsby's, Hanger Nine or Seven (it's a little hazy for me too). Nice to hear from someone in KY.

What a small world, I've lived in C'dale for 3 years ('03-'05) for my aircraft maintenance school at SIUC; one of the bests in the nation with a fully-operational B737-222 (PW-JT8D Low-bypass turbofan) that we used to run up the engine & taxi around.

Haha southern Ill never ceases to amaze me. Such an economically depressed area of the state but yet so diverse (girls were cute too). Nice to hear that so many hazy Volvo owners trace their formative years to C'dale. Yes, who doesn't remember Gatsbys, Hangar 9, Stix, Pinch Pennys? But the real question is... do you all remember PKs? The biker bar with the quarter drafts on Tuesdays on Thursdays? Amazing that I walked out of there with a PhD instead of chronic liver diseases.

Oh, I forgot about Pinch Pennys. My sister frequented that one while she was at John A and SIU getting her Masters. I've been there a couple of times. A bunch of us used to go to Gatsby's for trivia and win beer and sandwiches and beer and t shirts and beer and (hiccup) beer. That was a long time ago however (1979-1981). PK's rings a bell but I can't really place it.

Hi, Brian from a lovely scenic little spot nestled in the middle of Victoria, Australia.
I'm not going to list my age because I definitely don't feel it however,I'm aProject Management consultant headingtowards a well deserved retirement.
I haven't owned Volvos for all that long (4 years max.), but they sort of grow on you. I just love my '88 240 &'95 850 T5 wagons but for two completely different reasons (it is possible to blow the cobwebs out of the T5 occasionally on some of the more isolated roads around here - just have to keep an eagle eye out for those giant jumping things, kangaroos, whiledoing it).
