Default AQ 171C control unit, part # 855612

Hello

I am looking for an ignition control unit for a Volvo Penta AQ171C motor.

The part number is 855612.

I'm hoping to find this part used, as it is quite expensive new. However, I'll consider buying it new too.

If you have this part new or used, please email me with info.

If you don't have the part, can you recommend anywhere I could check to possibly find one? (especially a used one)

Any information you can provide me is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

John Bridal

Default Control unit

The bendix control unit of the Volvo 360 with B19 1984 looks exactly the same, the ignition advance is a few degrees less that that of the AQ171C unit but I'm pretty sure it will work. I myself own a AQ171C that is slowly being rebuilt and this is my best bet so far as a source for the box, but also to replace the often corroded coilpack screwed on top of the unit with torx.

The control units are very cheap here in sweden at the breakers so it doesn't cost much to try it out .

Default aq 171c

Hi to all, the aq171c is a pretty niffty engine. I am currently rebuilding two of them for my boat, Napa auto parts has been very good for finding marine parts at an affordible price (1/3 rd the cost). Tell them year 1992 - 1995 and that it's either a 740 or 940. As far as the exaust manifolds, the price is prohibited for me so I'm making my own out of stainless steel, if any body need help with the manifolds just let me know. Also like some of you I'm looking for parts, like the control modual.

Default Aq171 855612

I currently have a module for available. I paid $900+ for it about 5 years ago and it tested good. Was in boat for 10 minutes and on shelf since then. Turns out the J.A. that rebuilt motor put Flywheel on backwards so kept the old one on the boat. Serious offers only please. Doubt these are available from Volvo anymore and they retailed for $1300 last I checked. I mentioned what I paid as I'm not expecting full price but ridiculous offers will not be replied to. If this isn't the place to list them for sale my apologies. Such a unique item wasn't sure where to post this.
