What is the best method for changing the engine oil on a 5.7LGsi Penta? I bought the suction tube (hand pump), but a friend says drain the oil from the pan if I have enough room to slide a container underneath. I am not sure if I could reach the drain plug in the back to do this. Any suggestions?

 

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I used the manual hand pump and it went well. The screw on top at the dipstick opening works great with the pump. Next time I need to devise a way the catch the oil from the oil filter a little better. Otherwise it went without a hitch.
