Hello. After having endless trouble with a Bukh 10hp engine, i finally decided to go with a volvo penta md11c instead. Bought it used, made new engine mounts and fitted the engine. Bought a used engine starter. Hooked up all diesel lines. Fittef a temporary «tank» or bottle that serves as a tank. Cleaned everything thoroughly before mounting. Compression in engine is good. Air and exhaust is not blocked.
So the problem began when i was airing out the diesel lines. Opened the flanges on the injectors and pumped the feed pumped and tried turning the engine with the starter. No or only small drops of diesel came out of one of the lines. Opened the air screw thats fitted on the injection pump (after feed pump and diesel filter). Lots of diesel came out both when pumping feed pump and turning with starter engine.
Obviously, diesel wont pressurize or flow through the injection pump. Have opened everything up and cleaned lines, fittings etc.
When looking at the «pistons» at the injection pump thats supposed to go up and down when the engine rotates, only one of the «piston» is moving up and down. Could this be part of the problem? Im not completely sure how this pump works.
See the pictures. Any suggestions on what to do is highly appreciated.
Just had this problem remove the pump and it needs to be taken apart and cleaned many videos on you tube. E bay has pumps I just went out and bought a running engine and puled the injection pump off got engine running. The pump is easy to rebuild when you find the right video if not buy one from e bay it took a week to get this done I’ve got lots of pic ..in your pic you can see the brass pump stuck up in your pic
