The drive gear in the upper outdrive broke a gear fin. My mechanic is blaming it on the joystick for putting too much pressure on the gears. Has anyone had an issue like this. This is a 2010 Chaparral 370 with Volvo 8.1 engines. They want to replace it with a rebuilt outdrive.
