Tamd74 EDC, high turbo pressure
Hi, jag have two TAMD74 EDC that is acting exactley the same. EDC are limited to 2500 rpm. Both engines come up to 2050 rpm and stop there.
Hand pump, turbo sensor, turbo have been replaced. The injectors are refurbished. The engine is run with a separate diesel tank directly connected to the feed pump. EDC indicates no errors. The boost pressure on both engines is 43 PSI. Should be 29.7 according to workshop manual.
Vodian says that about 35-40% diesel is missing...
Any tips anyone?

Hello,
the way to fix this problem is:
1. Dismantle EDC box on engine
2. Connect it to Vodia computer or the old version for EDC
3. Remove/delete the current SW in the EDC box
4. Delete all logs and memories
5. Change the Turbo sensor, if its not already changed
6. Download Volvo Penta SW for EDC, ONLY the P-A version, earlier SW versions contains bugs
7. Check the EDC box with Vodia for errors
8. Mount EDC box on engine
9. Now the problem is gone
10. Let me know that it works
Regards

Did you do this yourself? I guess you need VP software and interface to do this.
This is over my competence and I need to hire a VP mechanic to help me. Do you know which version of the software you had initially and what version you uploaded?
The engine of mine runs mechanically amazing, all seems to be ok but one turbosensor was broke and has been replaced.
But still max RPM 2250. Injectors have been refurbished, turbos has been checked etc...
Another question how could you tell that 35-40% diesel is missing?

Hello,
Dismantle EDC box on engine
Take the box to an Autherized Volvo Penta Dealer
Ask them to remove current Sw, Sw EDC L-H, clear logs, memory everything
Ask them do download EDC P-A Sw
Mount the EDC box on the engine
Calibrate Reglage, Master salong and then Flybridge
Yout can measure that when engine is running or you could tell that using the Vodia Sw.
Done
