Hi, Sounds crazy but my car is finally ready to use everyday (I hope) and while I was doing my last minute check of things I found that there is no transmission dipstick!!! It's an '88 740 GLE wagon (just look at my user name) and if someone has one they would let go cheap, please let me know. The shifter on the inside of the car matches the pattern for an AW tranny. I need one of these but I'd also like to find a 2"X3" Draw Bar (I can send a pic of what I am looking for). I don't have a trailer and don't really plan to tow, I'd like to have one to have one. My ship to zip is: 15332. If I can locate a junk-yard with the dipstick I will delete that part.

 

I have a U-Haul hitch from my 91 940SE. It will also fit your 88 740. Actually, it is made for the 7-9 series RWD wagons and sedans to 96.

I can let you have it cheap since I'm moving and no longer have the 940.
