Wanted: Volvo Pet Barrier for 700/900 wagon.
I'm looking for the volvo pet & cargo barrier they sold for the 740/940 wagons. I narrowly missed getting one on ebay (was outbid). if its complete with all hardware, its worth $200 or something, I realize now.
I have the gate on my 850 wagon, and really like it. those generic ones that expand to fit just don't work that well. I have a rambunctious yellow lab, the volvo barrier dissuades her from even trying to nose her way into the front of the car

I actually found a NOS one really cheap at a Volvo dealer in the UK about a year ago and even with shipping from the UK, it was a good deal, and it was complete with all the hardware... turns out 740 and 940 wagons have different height rear seats, too, and they are two versions, I needed the short back one.

I just purchased a 940, and was in the talks of buying one from this guy one brickboard, but The Girl™'s dogs were tamer than expected in the wagon. Here is his email: Mike Burleigh peopleguy999 @ yahoo dot com

for anyone who has this 740/940 pet barrier...
I found out pretty quickly that they are rather prone to rattling, either in the down or up position... I also found a pretty good cure, thats to wrap the tube where it goes into the clips with a few turns of gaffers tape (a matte black cloth tape thats similar to duct tape, but uses a synthetic adhesive that doesn't dry out or ooze). This has worked well for a year and a half now. My gaffers tape is 3" wide, so I tore it in half lengthwise, and used one strip for each side.
