Default Swapping steel sunroofs / seats etc 700 / 900 estate wagon???

"Hi, could you tell me if all steel sunroofs fitted to 700 estates / wagons are the same, as I would like to replace mine which is rusty from a junker / donor car. Also, are interior bits such as seats & door panels from a 900 wagon ok to fit into a 700 wagon? I understand that a 900 wagon headliner is a much better fix and an easy swap into a 700 wagon as it is better made, which got me wondering over seats and trim etc. Many thanks for any help, BTW I am in England, UK, so my car is RHD if that makes any difference."

Hi there,

Recently I swapped my rusty sunroof with a 960 glass sunroof on my 89 740 wagon. It looks great. I believe 940 trim pieces would fit on 740.

Pretty much all pieces are interchangeable between 740 and 940. The basics of the "chasis" are the same. The best bet is late 740 1990 to 1992 with 1991 to 1995
940s. These were the years in the US. In Europe I believe the 940 continued till 1998. So, yes, all those parts you mention will fit into a 740 from a 940 donor car.
