Default 1996 855R Manual Black/Black 192K Full Records - N. Indiana

After searching for the right R wagon for many years, I purchased this one and it was everything I wanted. It was meant for me to drive on nice days to work and weekends. Since my job provides a car for me, I wanted to have an R that I could have fun with, take to GTG's and simply enjoy. The car didn't spend much time outside. I have a garage at home and I'm fortunate enought to have a warehouse at my work where i can park it when I go to work. My wife and I found out recently that we are having our 2nd child. I can swing having a car like this with 1 child but with 2, I'm going to need the funds for other things. Kind of upset because I love this car, but family always comes first. I'm sure I'll have another one down the road sometime.
1996 Volvo 855R Manual (swapped) Black / Black. Don't let the 192K miles scare you. This car was very well taken care of. I have a huge stack of receipts. This wagon does not look or drive like a car with this many miles. Non smoker car. Clear title in hand.
VIN# YV1LW5827T2245895
The car spent most of it's life in North Carolina. In May 2005, the car was purchased by a gentleman in Washington state. I then purchased it from a small dealership in northwest Washington state and had it shipped to me in northern Indiana. I have been in contact with the owner before me and the owner that has done the swap and a lot of upgrades to the car. Even with talking to the previous owner, he won't say how the dealership ended up with it. I took a chance on this car and bought it without knowing a whole heck of a lot about it. They told me there was a ton of receipts, but bought it just with pics. Needless to say, they weren't very helpful but I'm glad I went through with it. There was a couple little things, but all in all I was very happy.
The swap was done 11/25/04 143,905. The trans came out of a 96 850 with 10,492 miles. The VIN# of the donor is YV1LW5542T257197. The trans was purchased for $757.59 (have receipt) Everything was done using OEM parts. The owner was very particular about doing the swap.

Besides these things listed above, I have another $8150.00 in receipts of regular maint. and smaller upgrades. That's over $17,000 in receipts for this car.
The car is in great driving condition. It shifts smoothly with no grinding or slipping. The interior is in amazing shape for the mileage. No rips or tears. No funny smells. The engine compartment has also been kept very clean. I always let the car warm up properly before reving at higher rpm's and set the Greddy turbo timer at 30-40 seconds.
The wagon has a very stiff ride. It is a small price to pay for the great stance and handling the wagon has. Definitely need to take it slow over tracks and try to avoid large bumps and pot holes. It handles great on smooth roads. No annoying bouncing either. The wheels are in pretty good shape. There is some very slight rash and the front drivers side has some paint chipping.
The Wagon does leak a little oil. Nothing major. As you can see from the pics, the trim above the windows is peeling and above the top of the front windows to the back of the wagon is gone. The rear part of the sunroof sinks a bit when shut. It works both ways and does not leak. I have one key. No FOB. I do have access to a blank key if interested. The radio is in "OFF" mode. I haven't drivin it enought for it to go back to the "code" mode. I do have a code for it. The front bumper trim looks to have been painted at one time. The paint is coming off in places and there is a little contrast in color but nothing major. I put forever black on all the trim(I really wouldn't recommend that product) It wasn't easy to put on evenly but it looks better than it did. I have the 850 floor mats for the rear but do not have the front ones. Just regular mats for right now. The paint is in pretty good shape. It's definitely not perfect. It has some small scuffs, and small chips here and there. There are a couple VERY small spots on the roof next to the trim where it is turning white. They are very hard to notice. There is no clearcoat peeling anwhere on the car. I just recently clay barred the whole car. It made a difference. It shines up really nice. There are a couple small indentions on the rear bumber. You can't see them unless you are at the right angle. The front spoiler is in great shape. No cracks or damage. There are some scuffs on the bottom and underneath. Both fog lights work.
This wagon has a lot of life left in it. It really is a blast to drive and gets a lot of compiments for being different. I really thought I would never sell this. It's really killing me typing all of this out. But some things are just more important. Please email me your questions or if you need additional pictures at cronny1@comcast.net.
